Stopping garbage disposal odor

In this video, Dan, a Disposal Specialist of Expert Plumbing, Heating, Air and Electrical in Utah, will discuss on what you can do to stop the odor from your garbage disposal.

“If you’re experiencing problems with odors in your garbage disposal, just the other day I had a customer that put some pieces of mango in there. She forgot to operate the switch and so the mango had rotted in there.

What we did for her was re ran some vinegar and baking soda and manually got out the raw mango fruit and got it cleaned up for her and got her back going again. The garbage disposal had jammed so it was simply a matter of resetting the switch, removing the foreign material and resetting the switch, and we got it freshened up. We ran some grapefruit and ran some orange so we would get the natural citrus oils. There are a number of different things that you can do for the odor to help overcome that issue.
